Daughter Productions brings
you The Mai, by leading Irish writer, Marina
Carr. The Mai explores the interwoven stories of 4 generations of
women in a West of Ireland family. Peppered with dark humour and pathos
this beautifully written 2 act play promises to offer an interesting
alternative perspective on family relationships.
The
Mai, by Marina Carr,directed by Christian Carbin, and starring
Amanda Crawford, and Maura Logue
features also experienced actors from Donegal Town, Ardara, Ballyshannon
& Derry.
Dark
Daughter Productions,
a new South Donegal Theatre Company blends professional and community
theatrical expertise and are launching this debut production as part of
Bealtaine Festival 09 programming , supported by Donegal Co.Co. Cultural
Services.
Dark
Daughter Productions was created from the success of The Dark Daughter, an
historical play, written by Soinbhe Lally in 07 and programmed as part of
the Flight of the Earls programming 07, funded by Donegal Co.Co.
The
Dark Daughter by Soinbhe Lally received international acclaim at the UCD /
O Clerigh International Summer School, in the Irish College Louvain,
Belgium in May 08.
