Early 2012 will continue to be an exciting period for the Sail West project and its consumer facing brand MalinWaters. For example the comprehensive www.malinwaters.com website will go live in December 2011 while MalinWaters will have a presence at the London Boat Show in January 2012. Similarly there are two important publications in which the Irish and Northern Ireland anchorages will be covered firstly the Welcome Anchorages guide and secondly the Sail Scotland Tourism Guide, both of which are distributed extensively and will offer a huge boost to the profile of sailing opportunities in the North West. Furthermore there continues to be inroads made in the sailing infrastructure of the Malin sea region with new on-shore marina facilities due to open in Stranraer in the spring of 2012 and likewise the feasibility study for Portrush harbour is also due to complete in the near future.
Sail West is part financed by the European Union's European Regional Development Fund through INTERREG IVA Cross-Border Programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body with co-funding provided by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment (DETI) in Northern Ireland and the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport (DTTS) in the Republic of Ireland.
